used to+動(dòng)詞原形（過去經(jīng)常…），這結(jié)構(gòu)用于表示過去經(jīng)常而現(xiàn)在不再有的習(xí)慣。比如：
He used to be a science teacher in a private school.
他曾是一所私立學(xué)校的自然常識(shí)教訓(xùn)。
The river used to be very dirty, but now it is clear.
這條河以前很臟，但現(xiàn)在很干凈。
We used to have a cup of coffee in the café after work.
我們以前下班后常常在這家咖啡館喝咖啡。
My father usedto smoke a lot, but he doesn't now.
我父親以前抽煙很多，現(xiàn)在不抽了。
